Thanks to the YMCA for allowing us to hold our meeting at their facility.
Jim Bovay reported that activity at 150 University Avenue has been minimal recently.
Lt. Tom Belcher reported the crime statistics for March 19th-April 15th. On April 29th there will be a meeting on homeless people in the tunnel behind the Convention Center. The number of homeless people there has been increasing and they are accosting people when they leave the Convention Center. Lt. Belcher also talked about the recently announced reorganization of the police department. Patrol sections will be decreased from seven to two. One section will be east of the Genesee River and one section will be west. The downtown section currently covers areas on both sides of the river. How the new reorganization will affect the downtown section is not known at this time.
Chairman Tom Riley and Director of Development Don Naetzker spoke to us about the Fast Ferry between Rochester and Toronto. Mr. Riley told us about the public benefits of the ferry project and Mr. Naetzker outline development that is planned for the Charlotte area. Mr. Riley showed us pictures of a sister ship to the one that is coming to Rochester.

Elta Green gave a full report of our finances from May 1, 2002 through April 19, 2003.
Roz Goldman and Pat Tobin have talked to people working on the Sagamore about artwork for this new development at East Avenue and Scio Street. They will contact this committee when the final design is in.
Myra Buonocore and Kathy Parse thanked everyone who helped out at yesterday’s clean up. The city has shown an amazing degree of cooperation. They have given us 18 tree gators to put on trees to gradually water the trees. In the show and tell presentation, Myra showed us one of the tree gators. We need a way to fill these.
Phil Anderson reported a few changes. Elta Green will check the mailing list against the membership list for accuracy. Politicians are routinely called but do not come to the meetings. Should we continue to contact them? Paul would like to hear any ideas people have on this issue.
No report.

We are trying to update e-mail addresses of our association’s members. It is cheaper and faster to contact members this way.
