Artwork for the new town homes is on hold until the residents can have input.

Lt. Tom Belcher reported that last month’s statistics represented a spike. This month’s statistics are down.

3.       Old Business.

John Paris noted that he would not be able to host next month’s reception and asked for volunteers. Jim and Sue Bovay offered to host in his place.

4.       New Business.

a.       East End Business Association.

Fred Gregory reported that Paul Pineo and he had attended a meeting of the East End Business association. That Association is circulating a petition concerning the three festivals held last summer. Some businesses lose money on festival nights and some businesses need the festivals to survive.

The festivals were started to bring people into the East End and to acquaint them with the businesses in the area. The festivals are now geared to younger people with loud music and licensed drinking - which is how the festivals make money.

This Association does not believe that we are close enough to the festival area to have a position. Anyone with additional thoughts on the festivals is to contact Paul Pineo.

b.          Skylights for the New Town Homes.

The owners of town home number three would like to add skylights, facing Grove Place, to their home. Because the home is in a Preservation District, they will need approval of the Preservation Board. A motion was made and passed approving the owners’ request for skylights.

c.          Windows in a Building Owned by Chris and Kim Pond.

The Ponds wish to add a window to a building they own at the corner of University Avenue and Windsor Street. To do so, they need the approval of the Preservation Board. A motion was made and passed approving the windows.

d.       City Planning Commission.

The City Planning Commission will discuss the new zoning plan at their meeting at City Hall a 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 24 2003.

e.          Minutes of the Last Meeting.

The minutes of the Grove Place meeting on January 19, 2003 were approved with minor corrections.

4.       Tour of the Fire House.

Captain John Tallie, Lt. Shawn Murray and fire fighter David Bundy gave the members a tour of the firehouse. This is the only firehouse within the inner loop. The chairman of the meeting did not get to slide down the fire pole. It had been removed several years ago for safety reasons.

Respectfully submitted,
