Minutes of
the November 2002 Meeting of Members
Held at
Christ Church November 17, 2002 at 4:00pm
List of
attendees attached
Kathleen
Lynch, Jim Bovay, John Goldman, John Lovenheim, Chris Kawolsky and mark Siwiec
met to discuss the concerns of the neighborhood involving the property at 150
University Avenue. Jim Bovay, John Lovenheim and Chris Kawolsky met with Lt.
Tom Belcher and Captain Thomas D’Angelo, who understand our concerns.
The
police need patterns of activity - time of day that the activity happens the
most, license plate numbers, descriptions of the people involved, etc.
Neighbors can call the NET office to make a report. If something is imminent,
call 911. Calls also can be made to 311 and you can advise the operator that
you do not need to have a written report. You are asked to keep a record of
your calls.
Activities
at the Cathay Pagoda are also under surveillance by neighbors.
Article
VI of the By-laws were amended to add the following clause: Provide for the
membership to be informed to have an opportunity to discuss and to vote for any
project for which non-reimbursed expenditures will exceed seven-hundred and
fifty dollars ($750).
Ms.
Kingsley spoke to us about the quality of life work that her office does. A
second attorney has been added recently. She explained the points process and
the procedures involved. The points process applies to bars, apartment
buildings, grocery stores and entertainment venues. The preferred goal is to
got compliance, not to shut down a business.
Ms.
Kingsley answered questions from members about the problems we are having with
146 and 150 University Avenue. She will have attorney Amy Nichols run the
record on 150 University Avenue to see if there are any points against this
address. Ms. Kingsley also took questions on other problems in the
neighborhood.
Greg
Cutt, our neighborhood empowerment team representative, can get us a list of
neighborhood properties that have points against them.
The next
Grove Place Association meeting will be held on December 8, 2002 from 5:00 to
8:00 p.m. at the Eastman School Dorm.

submitted,
