GROVE PLACE NEIGHBORHOOD
ASSOCIATION
MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 27, 2002
Thanks to
Chris Kawolsky for hosting our meeting today and treating us to a performance
of Suds.
There is a
balance of $7,343.72.
The Pharaoh sculpture in the park by Max's will be here for two
years.
RIT is interested in working on the garage wall on Main Street.
Jim has contacted the owner of the parking lot on Carpenter Alley and the chain across the driveway will not be used as a clothesline again. Call Jim at 325-3347 with any issues.
Please see that any additions or corrections are given to Phil. Mary Lou will give Phil the membership information that she has.
John talked abort the proposed zoning changes. We are now the Garden District. He talked about which streets have parking and noise level allowances.
The web site is ready. Others are welcome to add their information to our web site.
Tom reported on an attempted rape on Grove Street in which there was an arrest and also on purse snatchings in which there were two arrests.
a)
The
nine new town homes should have the outsides finished by spring. All nine, not
just the seven facing Grove Street, will be finished.
b)
There
has been an increase in problems, broken windows, stolen patio chairs and a
tenant was approached by a man with a gun in the area. There is concern about
activities in the apartment building at Scio and University. Should we hire a
security company to watch this building? Several committee members will form a
committee to find out more about the person who owns the building, the people
who live there and what the problem is and how it can be taken care of.
c)
The
work on the Temple Building is coming along. The Grove Place Association will
hold a meeting there in the spring.
d)
Phil
Anderson has drafted the text for a new, full-color brochure describing Grove
Place. Gloria Marie Weyerts is providing the photographs. The next step is to
choose the pictures to use.
e)
A new
membership list is on the back table.
f)
Rural
Metro Ambulance has offered RPO tickets to Grove Place Association members. A
list of available tickets is being passed around.
