     Minutes of the September, 2002 Meeting of Members

1.            Standing Items.

 

Paul Pineo reviewed the minutes of the May, 2002 meeting, which was the last meeting of members, presented the report of the Picnic Committee, and thanked the chair, Kim Russell, for a very successful event.  The financial result was a cash short-fall (paid out of Association cash) 0f $114.81.  There was no Treasurer’s Report.

 

2.            Membership Secretary.

 

Phil Anderson has succeeded MaryLou Schwartzberg as the membership secretary.  Paul thanked MaryLou for all of her efforts on behalf of Grove Place. 

 

3.            Grove Place Brochure.

 

Phil Anderson also has agreed to draft the text of a new brochure promoting Grove Place.  Gloria Weyerts will provide the photographs, Ed Saphar will provide the art lay-out, and John Lovenheim will coordinate all of the foregoing efforts.

 

4.            Retiring President Sue Bovay.

 

Paul Pineo thanked retiring President Sue Bovay for her service to Grove Place and presented her with a book of photos and quotes.  The book was constructed of home-made paper, was created by Judy Gregory, and was signed by many of the neighbors.

 

5.            City of Rochester Planning.

 

Following the business meeting Larry Stid, Director of Planning for the City of Rochester, presented the evolving plan for development of the center city.

 

The meeting was adjourned and the attendees were invited to a reception hosted by Sandy and Miriam Shapiro.
