Treasurer’s Report:
Disbursements (March 2016):

$1334.00 art purchase
Income (March 2016):
$100.00 cookbooks
Cash Balance (March 31, 2016): $ 6,159.04
Guest Speakers: Colleen Griffin-Underhill, General Manager of Hart’s Local Grocer’s was introduced. Ms. Griffin-Underhill described some of the marketing changes that have taken place at Hart’s. The changes include an optioin to have groceries delivered, a service that will be provided within a 5 mile radius of the store. A vendor Market is scheduled for April 30th. Hart’s will continue to hold classes. Ms. Griffin-Underhill gave attendees coupons and encouraged individuals to be placed on the Market’s email list.
Book Club Report: The next Book Club meeting is on April 12th at DiPaola’s (65 Windsor St.). We will be discussing “Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits” by Laila Lalami. For anyone interested, Ms. Lalami will be speaking at Rochester Arts & Lectures on Thursday, April 7th; tickets are available.
Beautification/Artwork: Barbara Wager told the group that we are looking into the purchase of additional banners for the neighborhood. Roz Goldman updated members on the art work recently purchased. As per our agreement with the artist, he has been given the first payment installment for the piece he is creating. Regarding the second sculpture for which individual donations have been collected, the Eastman School administration is being approached regarding paying for the foundation work and lighting necessary for the art piece. A local auto collision shop will be donating the painting of the piece.
Concerning the ownership of the art installations for the neighborhood, Sandy Shapiro developed a legal agreement that the art belongs to the GPA and not to the owners of the property where it is installed. We are an LLC organization and we are able and need to own all the neighborhood art. An inventory has been conducted and further work will be done to accomplish this end. Roz Goldman agreed to chair a group of members who will analyze and determine if art pieces in the neighborhood are individually owned or privately owned. Steve Whitman made a motion to this end and it was seconded by several members.
The City’s “Clean Sweep” will be taking place on April 30th. Nancy Martin volunteered to take charge of our neighborhood’s effort.
