Grove Place Association
January 29, 2017
Meeting Minutes
Attendance: 54 Members, 5 guests
Speaker: Michael Patterson, our City Council Representative gave an overview of the Collective Action Project that is currently underfunded, hoping to spur the generosity of our neighborhood. Suzanne Mayer asked for more of his support and involvement in our Association.
Meeting Minutes: Motion made and passed to approve November’s meeting minutes.
Announcement of Reception: To be held immediately after at Charlotte Square’s Community Room.
Break from Traditional Meeting Format to Discuss Hot Topics: Forgo Treasurer’s, Neighborhood, Security/Safety and Beautification/Artwork Reports.
Focus Pregnancy Center: A petition was drafted and signed to present to the Preservation Board for their February 1st, 2017 hearing to allow new signage. The Preservation Board granted them permission to install an awning and remove all other signage at their October 5th, 2016 meeting. Instead new signage was installed the same time as the awning. The petition asks that the Preservation Board stand by their original decision. There were comments pro and con.
Veterans Outreach/Conifer Development: Conifer representatives were unable to attend today. Several of our Association Members met with them prior to our meeting. Suzanne Mayer presented concept plans for their proposed 4 story, 33 unit, affordable housing project at Delevan and Scio Streets. Kim Russell highlighted the lottery process for applicants to the units and the approval/funding process for the development. Conifer has asked for our support of the project but the group was not able to commit today and will ask for another meeting with Conifer to answer questions that were raised.
Sun Common: Meaghan Schulte gave an overview of their company and the options to go solar.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kim Pond
Secretary
