Meeting Minutes

Attendance:  32 Members
Meeting Minutes:  Motion made and passed to approve October’s meeting minutes.
Announcement of Reception:  To be held immediately after at Barbara Wager’s home hosted by residents of Windsor St.
Treasurer’s Report:  No report this month.
Neighborhood Report: 146 University Ave. will go up for auction on Dec. 13th, if not sold will go to Environmental Auction.  Ed Saphar’s property at 39 University Ave. has been torn down.  Tavern 58 was formerly a Texaco Station and will have possible environmental issues.
Security/Safety:  One theft reported in the Downstairs Cabaret parking lot.  There was an attempted bank robbery on Clifford Ave.  The officers participating in “No Shave November” have raised 10K
Quadrant Report:    Progress continues on David Hawkes proposed idea of a Center City Service Center as more people move into the area. There is outreach to the various neighborhood housing groups to encourage participation.  The hope is the larger the group, the more input and influence it can have in future development of City Center.  Jack, Suzanne, and Kim will go to the next meeting scheduled in December.  If you have any suggestions or concerns contact one of them.
Other Business:
There are still copies of the “Community Cookbook” selling for $20.  If interested contact Barbara Wager or Suzanne Mayer.
Sandy Shapiro gave an update on the City vs Focus case.
Steve Smith initiated discussion around sidewalk plowing and possible solutions for areas where the snow piles up making sidewalks impassable.
Tom Fink will get us more info on the plan submitted for the proposed Veteran’s Housing Project.
Roz Goldman shared her positive experience with Community Composting.
Steve Whitman shared that the “Grove Place Jazz Project” is alive and well and encourages members to attend.
Holiday Party:    Will be held January 28th, still looking at venues and caterers.  This puts January meeting in flux.
New Members:  Barbara Wager introduced Ferran Briggs who lives at 52 Windsor St.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kim Pond
Secretary
